Mondelez, Mars Wrigley, and Sumitomo Join China Food Tech Hub

China Food Tech Hub, the consortium organized by Bits x Bites to foster cooperation between startups and corporations, has welcomed three new member companies. Representing a new model to advance China’s food tech ecosystem, the group now has 13 members. These corporations’ spread along the supply chain, from consumer foods to animal feed to flavors and ingredients to agricultural processing.

The new members are Mondelez and Mars Wrigley, both US snacking and food giants; and Sumitomo Corporation China, part of the Japanese global trading company.

The China Food Tech Hub met for the second time in Shanghai in November 2019. The one-day event brought together member corporations’ heads of R&D, food innovation teams, and business unit leads as well as 16 downstream and upstream Chinese and international startups. Through active discussions, they exchanged on-the-ground insights and explored potential for future collaboration.

Mars Wrigley joins the China Food Tech Hub to fuel its innovation process. Mars Wrigley says: “Through Bits x Bites, we have the opportunity to exchange insights with other progressive industry peers and disruptive startups. It’s a great step forward to boost our innovation engine as we bring Mars Wrigley products to delight more consumers.”

In addition to the three new members, the China Food Tech Hub member companies also include Danone, Coca Cola, General Mills, Givaudan, Louis Dreyfus Company, Novozymes, Nutreco, PepsiCo Greater China, Puratos, and more.
