From computational biologists combating food allergies to bioengineers growing animal-free meat, 60 startups have been nominated this year by the AgFunder AgriFood Innovation Awards committee for their work driving the agrifood tech sector forward. These nominees collectively give a glimpse of how technology continues to revamp how food is produced, preserved, and delivered.

Three Bits x Bits portfolio companies have been nominated for an award the year. They include Alchemy Foodtech Pte. Ltd. (diabetes-fighting food ingredient); Future Meat Technologies (cultured meat); and Tropic Biosciences (gene-editing technology to optimize coffee and banana crops). Bits x Bites, as China’s pioneer food tech VC, is a finalist in the most valuable agrifood tech program category.

The winners will be announced during the ReThink Agri-Food Innovation Week in San Francisco on March 20 at a networking evening bridging the World Agri-Tech and the Future Food-Tech Summits.
