Future Meat Technologies, the Israeli cellular agriculture company in the Bits x Bites portfolio, has announced the closing of its series A.

This new financing will go into the company’s efforts toward a cost-competitive hybrid product by 2021, and a second line of 100% cultured meat product at a cost of less than $10 per pound by 2022.

This A-round investment is the second largest in cultured meat to date. Chicago-based venture capital firm S2G Ventures is the lead. Other investors include Swiss-based Emerald Technology Ventures, Monde Nissin CEO Henry Soesanto, and UK-based Manta Ray Ventures. Bits x Bites, who invested in the company’s seed stage, has also joined this round.  Read more here.
