China Food Safety & Quality Conference 2018 to Bridge Startup-Corporate Cooperation

Bits x Bites has partnered with the organizer of China International Food Safety & Quality Conference (CIFSQ) to present a new breakout session on Nov 8 entitled “The Innovation Stage: Disruption, Open Collaboration, and Technology Acceleration.”

This new session, chaired by Bits x Bites founder Matilda Ho, provides an opportunity for food companies and startups to explore how collaboration between the two can accelerate food safety technology development and adoption.

“Enormous advances in science, management, and technology have been driving forward the safety of food. Some of these breakthroughs are coming from a brand new class of emerging new technology companies,” says Kenny Sun, Program Director for the CIFSQ Conference. “We are pleased to welcome these new startup innovators to our stage for the first time, and look forward to the open dialogue and collaboration that will accelerate food safety compliance in our supply chains and boost consumer confidence.”

Food corporate representatives speaking in this breakout include Danone’s David Machiels, R&I Director, Asia Expansion and Innovation Acceleration; Mars’s Clara Shen, Business Development and Ventures for Mars Wrigley Confectionery China; and Walmart’s William Watts, Deputy Director for the Walmart Food Safety Collaboration Center and and Tim Jackson, Vice President, Food Safety, Regulatory Compliance, Worker Welfare at Driscoll’s of the Americas. On the startup side, four companies are invited to present and join the panel discussion. They include:

Freshpoint

An Israel and US-based company that advances  accurate, real-time visual freshness sensors to enable food consumption at its freshest and reduce food waste.

ImpactVision

A San Francisco-based technology company using hyperspectral imagery to equip food manufacturers, processors, and distributors with real-time information about their product quality.

Shenzhen DJX Technology Co., Ltd. 

A Chinese company that has developed a cold-chain delivery solution that combines temperature monitoring and data traceability to service fresh food e-commerce.  The company was a finalist in the Walmart Food Safety Innovation Pipeline.

Shenzhen ZKS Mobile IoT Tech Co., Ltd.

A Chinese company that provides real-time temperature and humidity monitoring from production, storage, transportation to distribution, as well as improves whole chain monitoring. The company was a winner of the most recent Walmart Food Safety Innovation Pipeline.

“The Innovation Stage: Disruption, Open Collaboration, and Technology Acceleration” breakout session will take place on Thursday November 8 at 14:00.
